We have different seasons in life, and some things need to go to the wayside.Įcclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”įocusing our eyes on what is truly important, and doing those things will help us to use our time wisely Yes, I homeschool five children and am busy.īut when I say that I don’t have time, what I really mean is that it is not important enough for me at this time. I have often used the excuse that I don’t have time to do this and that. I was recently very convicted when I listened to a message about time. Without a daily routine, it is easy for days to pass by before realizing that you have neglected the important stuff like prayer and Bible reading. That’s where I fail a lot, and where I need to put in some work.įinding the solution to WHY you have little self-discipline will help you find resources and tips to keep you from that state of frustration. Not only do I become a lot more frustrated and harried when we have no order, but our children also bicker more, they become moodier, and the frustration level rises all around.įollowing a schedule takes self-discipline. It is easy to believe that a go with the flow daily schedule will result in a more relaxed and fun atmosphere in our home. The galaxies, the seasons, moon eclipses, time, all follow a consistent routine that is predictable and stable.Įcclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” If we take a look at our Great God, and how He has created things, we see nothing BUT order. Laundry on Thursday, and house cleaning on Friday.Ī home that is orderly and structured helps us to guard our homes diligently. The only schedule we follow is lunch at noon, and supper at 6. We have no dedicated bedtime, no set morning time. I would fall into the other side of loose and fancy-free with our schedule. I am not a structured homemaker that runs a tight schedule. I’m a realist, though, and know every day won’t mirror a schedule exactly. I’m including everything in the schedule that I’d like to happen during the day. I have quiet time with God and shoot for 20 min of exercise.ġ:I catch up on computer work or home project.Ģ:Kids wake up and have a snack. I work on the computer next to the play area.ġ0: We go outside or kids play a game with me.ġ1:I do my daily chore and they “help.” We eat lunch.ġ2:We read books and do kids devotional. I get dressed.ĩ: Kids listen to music and play. My part-time working SAHM schedule with a 2 and 3 year old:Ĩ: Playtime and a tv show. My goal this week was to write out a schedule, print it, and post it inside our most-used kitchen cabinet, where I’ll see it. My part-time graphic design work and my kids’ endless needs and requests blur together, leaving me feel like I’m not doing either well. That’s fine some of the time, but I think my kids and I would benefit from a little structure. I’m not exactly a routine kind of person and every day looks different. Being a stay-at-home mom with a long, wide open day can be a mess for me.
